Little Punnetts is a small, friendly nursery where children feel safe, valued and ready to explore, learn and grow. We are a nurturing setting welcoming children from 2 years old.
At Little Punnetts we ensure that every child is known, valued and supported as an individual.
We believe that children learn best when they feel happy, secure and confident. Our caring team build positive relationships with children and families, creating a warm and encouraging environment where children can develop at their own pace.
Learning through play and exploration
Although we follow a well-planned curriculum, our practitioners allow plenty of flexibility to follow the children’s interests, encouraging their natural curiosity and giving them plenty of opportunities to explore, investigate, create and discover. We encourage children to become increasingly independent, supporting them to have a go for themselves, make choices and develop confidence in their abilities.
We also recognise that every child is unique and may need different support to thrive. We work closely with families and, where appropriate, other professionals to provide inclusive support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). We adapt our environment, activities and approach to help every child participate, communicate, develop independence and achieve their individual potential.
There is always plenty to explore, including:
🌿 Our outdoor areas, garden and woodland area
🧗 Climbing frames and opportunities for physical development
🎵 Music, songs and rhymes
🎨 Messy and creative play
👐 Sensory play and exploration
🏃 PE lessons and physical activities
🔢 Number, counting and mathematical play
📚 Stories, conversations and opportunities to develop communication and language
We place a strong emphasis on communication and language, helping children to develop their vocabulary, confidence and ability to express themselves through meaningful interactions, stories, songs and play.
Helping children feel safe and secure
Starting nursery is a big step for both children and families. We understand the importance of familiar routines, consistent adults and positive relationships in helping children feel safe and settled.
Our daily routines provide a reassuring structure while still allowing plenty of flexibility to follow children’s interests and needs. We want every child to feel that nursery is a place where they belong.
Supporting the whole family
We ensure that nursery life is as convenient and supportive as possible for families.

A small setting with a big heart
Being a small nursery means we can really get to know our children and families. We take the time to understand each child’s personality, interests, strengths and individual needs.
We want our children to leave Little Punnetts as confident, curious and independent learners, ready to take their next steps into school with a love of learning and a strong sense of belonging.
